The Basics of Labouchere System

The Labouchere system is one of the betting systems that belong to the negative progression betting system category. The Labouchere system is also known as the Cancellation System and has different kinds of variations.

Of all the variations of the Labouchere system, this is the simplest one and this is how it works.

The first step in the Labouchere system is to write down a group of numbers or a series of numbers, like 1,2,3,4,5,6. The group or series of numbers can either be long or short but does not necessarily means that the numbers should be sequential in nature, like 1,1,1,3,3,5,7. Your choice of group number or series in Labouchere system is dependent on what kind of casino game you want to use it and the betting odds of the game.

Each individual number of the series in the Labouchere system is equivalent to the amount of chips or units to bet on the game. Your first bet on the Labouchere system will be the first and last numbers on the series. In the case of our example that is 1,2,3,4,5,6, the first bet would be seven units, which is the sum of the numbers one and six.

If you win on your first bet of the Labouchere system, you must cross out the two outside numbers of the series and then bet on the sum of the next two outside numbers of the series, and for this instance will be the numbers two and five. If ever you win again on your second bet of the Labouchere system, then bet on the sum of the remaining two numbers of the series, which are three and four.

If ever you win again this time around, then you have successfully completed a game for the Labouchere system. And this time, you need to start all over again from the beginning like listing a group or series of numbers and bet on the sum of the outside numbers.

In case of your loses while using the Labouchere system, you got to add that number of betting units to the end of your selected series of numbers. For example, you lose in your first bet which is seven units, then add number seven to the end of your Labouchere system number series and it would look something like this: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7.

And basing on the new series of numbers, your next bet on the Labouchere system will be eight units. In case you lose on the second bet which is two and five, then your Labouchere system number series would look something like this: 2,3,4,5,7.

You will soon realize after a number series of the Labouchere system is completed that you are always making a profit win. The only negative aspect of the Labouchere system is that it could make you bet a large sum of money even if your initial bet is very small.
